Joe Critchfield had a vision and shared it with his family. He had imagined building an HVAC company that provided the best ways to solve customer comfort problems and improving their businesses through engineered solutions. With that vision, Critchfield Mechanical, Inc. (CMI) was born in 1977. Joe created a design-build company, because it fit the type of work he loves. Today, Joe continues to share his passion with his family and over 400 employees.

Headquartered in Menlo Park, California (between San Francisco and San Jose), the 60,000 square-foot facility operates in the hub of Bay Area construction. In an effort to better service our client's expansion, CMI supports/maintains two additional offices in California and one in Hawaii. In Northern California, CMI can be found in Santa Rosa in the area fondly referred to as Telecom Valley. In Southern California, CMI along with their associate CMI of Southern California, has opened an office in Costa Mesa adjacent to the John Wayne airport. Critchfield Pacific, CMI's newest associate, is located in Honolulu. From these locations we can service all of our California and Hawaii clients.

CMI's work spans from high rises, bio-tech labs, hospitals, hotels, convention centers to high-tech campuses, educational facilities, City and State buildings, retail and residential projects. CMI is known for quality workmanship, timely project completion, and budget consciousness.
